PlexAPI: Authentication failed on ATV2

Hi,
I get this message on the PMS/PlexConnect server whenever I try and login to PlexConnect on the ATV2.
PlexConnect can see my PMS fine (shows 1 server found).
Followed all the instructions. I’ve tried using my email/password and my username/password.

PlexConnect: 0.6-250218 on MacOS Catalina
ATV2 Model: MC572X/A, 6.2.1 (not jailbroken)
PMS: 4.22.3 MacOS Catalina

I’m really stuck, any help would be appreciated!

You need to check if you can access YouTube from the ATV2, if not check Settings.cfg for the following parameters:

  1. enable_dnsserver = True this is mandatory unless you have your own DNS server
  2. ip_dnsmaster = x.x.x.x where x.x.x.x is a valid DNS address, such as 8.8.8.8 or your router

If you can access YouTube you should be able to login PlexConnect using the credentials for https://www.plex.tv/ or your own Plex server, unless https://www.plex.tv/ is down (you can verify its state in https://status.plex.tv/)

Also your PlexConnect version is an old one, pls consider moving to V0.7, whose only known bug is the access to channels (which, by the way, are being dropped by Plex).

If the above doesn’t work pls attach PlexConnect.log

Thank you very much for your reply. What you explained made it clear there was a strange problem with my password on plex.tv, even though I could log in on other devices. I reset it and all works now.
