Has anyone got beta2 working using myplex and a remote server ?

I can't enter into any media sections using beta2, i'm stuck in the main screen where I have my sections list.

Are you able to see http://176.31.X.XX:32400/manage/ from that external connection?

Pecinko can verify but I believe what your experiencing is the intended functionality of the skin. I believe you can hack your way around this limitation by editing the skin and reordering the views so that the view you want for all your shows is the default option.

Not quite.

Although skin offers list view as a first one (makes most sense you don't wanna fanart view in filters menu), it does not force it (and it can't really). Why is it so that when you change your view in one of the seasons it's not remembered automatically for the rest of them is beyond me. That is managed by XBMC and my guess is someone was very ■■■■ about having different views for different seasons so it was implemented this way. It might as well be a bug in Eden release.

Of course. I'm getting a 401 Unauthorized error when trying to connect with my webbrowser, but that's normal as by browser do not provide a valid plex token.
Btw, plex media center is accessing my library without any problem. The same when I launch plex media manager using myplex.

It seems like plexbmc does not send the plex token when trying to get inside a section..
[EDIT] and it's working as it should with plexbmc beta1

You're not suppose to enter any remote ip.
If your plex server is on your local network, it should be detected automaticaly.
If it is on a remote server, PMS and plexbmc must both be connected to myplex

Remote server discovery was working with 2.0 beta1, no more with beta2. Seems myplex integration is partly broken for now

In the first [beta of 2.0](https://github.com/downloads/hippojay/plugin.video.plexbmc/plugin.video.plexbmc-V2.zip) hippo released myplex is working pretty good but your que's does not work.
In the latest beta release hippo accidentally broke myplex tokken system and thats why it is not working any longer. After this Hippos laptop broke down and he is fixing a new one to complete the release of the plugin and make all of our lives epic !

Hey Hippohad a chance to take a look at fanart & multi image problem? I have some spare time and would like to attempt making plexbmc support in Quartz Reloaded, but I need your coop. If your interested, I suggest starting a thread @ Quartz forum as I receive delayed notifications here and don' t wanna spam your thread with skin specific questions. I would like to start with fanart/backgrounds and recently added stuff first, moving later to flags and such. Finally, I would try to port the code to Quartz 3. What say you?

I just need to get plexbmc working and out, then i'll look at the skin. I've made a boo-boo with beta 2, so I need to get an external connection going and double check myplex connectionc coming back in. Once I have that an myplex queue i'll push out a release and switch to skin mode.

BTW, can I fork Master branch in hope you will always push most recent code there?

At the moment I'm doing all the work on the eden branch. I need to make sure that pushing to master won't automatically push an eden version of the plugin to Dharam users (if any still exist). So eden is where its at.

Beta2 was b0rked for some reason on myplex (a token issue which i'm current looking at). I'm just getting some more testing together (it's just a bit more complicated to get an external connection to check remote connectivity). My bad.

I have enjoyed several hours of family entertainment by using PMS on my media server and your awesome plug-in on my clients (Mac Mini running Mountain Lion, ATV1 with CrystalBuntu and jailbroken AppleTV2).



Has anyone else had trouble with the XBMC subtitles plug-in? The subtitles plug-in script seem to fail every time since upgrading PleXBMC to “plugin.video.plexbmc-v2.0b2”.

I tried on all clients and all show the same error. It doesn’t seem to matter which skin I’m using, as the same error occurs with both “pecinko-quartz-f-50-g014acd0” and “skin.quartz.plexbmc-fd018ca”.

The error doesn’t happen if I remove “plugin.video.plexbmc-v2.0b2” and install “plugin.video.plexbmc-EDEN4” back.



I’ve searched this thread, but did not see anyone else mention subtitles.

Where do you enter the X-Plex-Token?

The X-Plex-Token needs to be sent to the remote servers, be that my.plexapp.com or the remote Plex media server you are trying to access. The easiest way is to append it to the URL (http://mypmsserver.com/library/sections/1/all?X-Plex-Token=blahblahblah). But you need to get the token. The token is either generated via the login process at myplex, or can be found on the myplex server list (which requires a myplex token anyway).

PleXBMC deals with all this, so all you need to enter is your myplex user/password. If you want to see what your myplex token is, i cache it in XBMC_HOME/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.plexbmc/setting.xml in the format "userid|token".

Now, I’m not sure what happened to the last beta, as i’ve had to make no changes to get remote streaming working - so perhaps I uploaded an old file.



Anyway, I have tested this remotely, and I can definately access my media from outside of the local network and play it

1. Removed Bonjour “assisted” discovery, as it made no sense now we have myplex.

   NOTE: If you are using the plexbmc skin, then it will not be directly viewable (it needs a skin change), but you can find it by going into:

The X-Plex-Token needs to be sent to the remote servers, be that my.plexapp.com or the remote Plex media server you are trying to access. The easiest way is to append it to the URL (http://mypmsserver.com/library/sections/1/all?X-Plex-Token=blahblahblah). But you need to get the token. The token is either generated via the login process at myplex, or can be found on the myplex server list (which requires a myplex token anyway).

PleXBMC deals with all this, so all you need to enter is your myplex user/password. If you want to see what your myplex token is, i cache it in XBMC_HOME/userdata/addon_data/plugin.video.plexbmc/setting.xml in the format "userid|token".

I understand I need to fill out the Authentication screen with User Name and Password.

General is where I enter the Primary Server remote IP and Port.

That leaves Server List to enter the full URL with Token correct? Surprising that you even have to enter the server, since MyPlex account already has that info.

Ah, you have an older version - as server list and authentication are no longer present in the version 2 BETAs. Grab the version I just posted for the updated myplex functionality.

I tried the above and I'm still getting the "HTTP response error: 401 Unauthorized". I know I'm using the corrent URL with token as it takes me to the Plex Media Manager when I use Chrome.
