Just checked it out - nice. I'm still not a fan of those horizontal menu bars though - I like the Quartz V3/4 home screen interface, but the reloaded styling.
btw, watched flags for movies are ok, but TV was still a bit messed up (even with my new fix). I'm going to investigate, as I think I have a better way of dong it with less of my "skin hacks".
Hey thanks Hippojay,
The new version of Plex helper is still not working. Not showing up in http://ip:32400/clients, nor my Android or Plex web, etc. I’m on the latest version of PMS, and GDM is enabled.
Can’t get srt subtitles to work tried same folder and same name and with .avi and .srt
I'm using latest Quartz Reloaded with plex integration. When I launch xbmc, script gets running but home items are not populated as Mac Mini with PMS is asleep. If I refresh skin, it gets reloaded and script is started again, but still no media items show up. If I now go to video addons submenu under ADDONS and start Plexbmc this way, Mini is awaken.
If it is complicated don't bother for now. I will investigate why Mini is not waken up normally - it was sufficient to enable "wake on lan" in OS X settings but it stopped working for whatever reason lately.
I'm planning to add vertical home layout as an alternative. Would that help? :)
TV Shows might be skin related. What is the problem exactly? If they work for movies I can't see no reason they should not work for episodes as well?
Probably my shonky code :)
The reasons for a lot of this are tied into issues XBMC has/had with resuming media, asking the user if they want to resume and the display of watched flags.
**Dharma** - no controls, so it was all coded and skins needed to be altered
**Eden** - XBMC controlled this based on data recorded in it's database. Causes the "double dialog" feature on resuming - so had to produce a work around
**Frodo** - XBMC controls, but I also added in (with help from jmarshall) some addon controls for notification and resuming of media. XBMC now control watched status based on metadata.
Perhaps I am over thinking things? I can let XBMC control the whole process, it just opens up a tiny tiny window that the resume time displayed will be incorrect - let me put together a new version and if anyone notices I'll go back to the old ways..
Just tried it and it's working for me. Enabled WOL on my mac mini, configured in the MAC in XBMC, put mini to sleep and restarted XBMC.
Thinking off the top of my head - it might be a timing issue. PleXBMC won't hang around for ever waiting for the server to power up, so perhaps after a while it stops, but this is before your server responses? the global timeout is 10 seconds
Just found out why this double server entry ahppened - looks like Plex remembers or does something if it goes to sleep. No idea why, but the same has just happened to me now after testing WOL. Not sure how to fix it though, but it may happen again if you put your macbook to sleep.
hey guys!
Just bought myself a XIOS DS and will install the XBMC linux firmware on it.
I tried XBMC newest version for android with my Nexus with Plex plugin but for some reason all the Plex skins where not working.
Where can I get the newest versions, as the repository doesn’t seem to have the latest?
Tonight will install the XIOS! jeej!
Not sure if this is the right thread for this. I’ve just purchased a raspberry pi and loaded raspbmc & plexbmc on it.
Plugin installation & configuration seems to have gone fine (I used the following guide: LINK). I can connect to my plex server and get a list of the sections, however when I try to open one of the sections I get the following error: Script failed!: plugin.video.plexbmc
Any assistance to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.
Check page one and make sure you have the 3.0.5 version of the video plugin script. Just grab all the scripts on the page and add them all. The link he uses (I used the same article) is out of date.
Thanks so much! Uninstalled the old and installed 3.0.5 and it seems to work fine.
Thanks, I've installed the new version and restarted.
1. Checking http://ip:32400/clients shows no clients. (To check what I should expect I compared this to when I ran PMC on my desktop, and that showed up straight away)
2. Relevant log entries from the new version (v3.0.3 seems to be logging as v3.0.2, is that expected?) - full version attached:

3. Sorry I should have said earlier - I'm running PMS 0.9.7.11
4. I've confirmed that GDM is enabled in the PMS settings
The log file looks to confirm your theory, in that it isn't discovering the server.
I hope that's helpful! Is there anything else I can do to help diagnose the issue?
And I've just put together an updated repository:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4ejepq9nmrkjxi6/xbmc.repo.plexbmc-2.0.1.zip
I'm at a bit of a loss now. I can only think that multicast isn't getting through, especially as a discovery isn't working also.
What does the PMS run on, and was it the same device that you ran PMC on?
Very nice. I love me some self-updating repositories....
Looks like this fixed the watched flag issue.
Thanks hippojay. The repo worked liked a charm! keep up the great work.
**PleXBMC 3.0.6 **
Another day and another release - hopefully squashing more of the bugs:
https://github.com/hippojay/repository.plexbmc.addons/raw/frodo/download/plugin.video.plexbmc/plugin.video.plexbmc-3.0.6.zip
[list]
[] FIX: Watched flags - these will now display correctly in all skins, modded or not.
[] FIX: Media flags - these will now display correctly in all skins, modded or not.
[] DEL: The plex style watched flags setting has been removed (as frodo now implements partial flags)
[] FIX: setting audio/sub stream remotely should now work (thanks wezhunter)
[] FIX: transcoded audio streams didn;t always pick up teh correct audio type (thanks wezhunter)
[] FIX: added some more encoding code, so that non-ASCII characters shouldn’t cause failures.

This release is also on the updated PleXBMC repository (see first post), at the moment you will need to download and install the new one, but I’ll see about getting the old one to autoupdate also.
Hey hippojay,
Just been testing your repository and noticed the QuartzV3 skin wouldn’t download via addon manager.
Looking at the XBMC logs I get:
15:17:17 T:7632 ERROR: XFILE::CFileCache::Open - failed to open source http://github.com/hippojay/repository.plexbmc.addons/raw/frodo/download/skin.quartz3.plexbmc/skin.quartz3.plexbmc-0.7.3.zip.md5
Looks like theres a typo in the path to the github skin zip.
Looking at the repo source:
Addon.xml shows “skin.quartz3.plexbmc” but think it should be “skin.quartzV3.plexbmc” (V missing).
Not 100% sure if that fixes it but I do know for sure the github path is incorrect though!
Cheers,
Wez
Damn! I check the other two in the repo as well - it sounds like that's the issue. I'll get it fixed and get an update pushed out - if it's only the download then I don;t think that needs any repo addon updates - as it's all stored in the addons.xml file.
