I might have found something to recreate the “bug”.
In the server setup under network, selecting REQUIRED instead of Preferred made the thumbnails disappeared.

Good catch. In my case if I select Preferred PlexConnect accesses my server locally, but when I select Required it accesses my server remotely. In both cases I have thumbnails.
I can access the library you have shared with me, but with PlexConnect I can’t see thumbnails, fanart, or play anything. It’s ok when accessing with Firefox, so definitely a problem with PlexConnect.
I have two PMS’s, one in QNAP (linux), which is my producton server, and another in Windows 10. I can access both with PlexConnect, locally or remotely, with no problems.
When you select Preferred do you see thumbnails when logged in to plex.tv ?
When you select
Preferreddo you see thumbnails when logged in to plex.tv ?
Yes, everything works A1 (thumbnails + playing) when I’m logged in and preferred is selected.
Selecting REQUIRED messes up my plexconnect from what I have observed.
Do you have Strict TLS enabled ?

If yes, can you pls disable it temporarily ?
Strict TLS is now unchecked (was checked).
Secure connection still set to “Preferred”
Apparently when you change the TLS parameter you have to restart PMS so that it becomes effective. Can you pls restart PMS ?
I’ve already made the test with my own test server, but to be sure I would also like to to it with your’s.
This is my guess of what is happening:
Secure connections is Required PMS denies local access to PlexConnectI’m not going to change PlexConnect to fix HTTPS, but I need to update WiKi and FAQ’s accordingly.
I have restarted the server on my side.
Thank you very much.
Now I can access your library without any visible problem. This confirms my previous idea. I’ve just release PlexConnect V0.7.4 so that others can benefit.
I have removed my access to your library. You can enable TLS if you wish, knowing that only remote PlexConnect clients (or other old clients that do not support enhanced TLS) will be affected.
Very good! Thanks so much for this support.
Glad that I could help you troubleshoot the issue. Everything seems to be working now, including Pillow (which was not related to the issue).
All the best to you.
