Hi guys,
This is my first time ever running Plex. Finally, after some back and forth I found out that it was possible to get it to stream to my Apple TV 3 which is the only reason why I put it away before. I have not enough words to thank you for the terrific work Plex is doing. PlexConnect has offered me something that I haven't been able to archive on the Apple TV and that's streaming my own movies collection without having to deal with iTunes for my personal movies collection.
I also found the donation topic and I'm heading over to donate as soon as I'm done with this post. Just want to say thank you in a more tangible way!
I know PlexConnect is primitive but it works and works quite well. Irrespective, I've noticed that it is slow when loading my Movies folder in the Trailer app. When browsing to the folder it takes easily 20-30 seconds to load up the folder. My guess is that it is not caching anything or the Trailer app does not do any caching whatsoever. My Media Plex Server data is in a dedicated SSD, running on a Quad Core 16GB RAM, the library is hosted in a Raid10 array and my gigabit connection can be easily maxed out on my network so I know there is no throughput problems.
Can anyone tell me if there is a better way to load a library (not so big @350 movies) faster? Is there any way to cache the requests or the files or whatever it is needed?
Thank you for any hint you guys may share.
