AppleTV 4K Slow Loading Libraries

The Plex app on AppleTV 4k takes almost 2 minutes to load a library and will freeze and not respond to backing out of current library or selecting a new library once one has been selected. I am not sure when this started but thinking within the last few weeks. One AppleTV is connected via wifi and the other directly with ethernet. Both boxes have same issue.

I do not have this issue on Plex app built into Visio tv or accessing from a Plexweb on a PC. Anyone else having this issue?

Same problem on the vast majority of platforms and I’ve been talking to other colleagues and they’re in the same situation… It makes me think it’s a problem with the client apps.
In addition, it is not only slow loading elements, but it is also slow loading movies/series.

I seem to be having this issue too. Pretty much on all my apple devices including the web. Library takes quite a while to load, sometimes it doesn’t. I can then force quit and refresh and then it shows up instantly. However when I click a movie or tv show, the details page for those then takes a while to load. Scratching my head here…

Same here, starting Plex app on ATV 4k takes one minute. Loading libary also.
Push this threat.

I have a big library and the only time i’ve really seen it bad is if you switch tv to episode view - it choked hard on that

I did the database repair using the repair tool ChuckPa created and that seemed to help quite a bit. Worth trying. GitHub - ChuckPa/PlexDBRepair: Database repair utility for Plex Media Server databases

Just an update: back to having issues even after repairing the database where libraries take forever to load.

I am experiencing the same issues. I have found a work around to the issue. Also, my observation is the the AppleTV player does not get a refresh from the Plex Media Server for minutes. The guide is sluggish and the time on the guide is old. The work around is to have multiple users in your environment. When it is acting sluggish, logout of the current user, log on to another. When you do this the new user refreshes the AppleTV app so that it talks to the PMS. Then log out and go back to the original user and everything is updated when you log back it. No sluggish preformance. IT appears the AppleTV app is not getting a refresh from the PMS ( Plex Media Server,
