Hi,
I am using PMS and PlexConnect for a complete year without any problem, using an internet box as router and an airport express as a wifi access point (I could have used the airport to do router too, but at the time I installed my network, the internet box was not able to be configured without the routing function, and I haven’t changed it since then)
Long story short, I am living my house and have asked the internet connexion to be cut, which happened this morning.
Since then, I can not use PlexConnect (which was working fine yesterday evening) even if I can ping the aTV on my network without any problem (I haven’t changed any network configuration, only the internet access is off)
So my question : is it possible to use PlexConnect / PMS on an internal network without internet access ?
I assumed yes, but I’m trying for an hour now, rebooting the aTV, verifying IP and DNS adresses, and no way.

Without internet access none of the apps will show on the aTV.... which means no PlexConnect :(

Hi
Thanks Roidy
That is exactly my pb. Nevermind, I’ll try to survive 3 days without Plex !

I had one guy bring a extension cord from his house to his neighbors and hook up his aTV to load the storeFront (apps) then he brought the aTV back still plugged into his home outlet then used his local PMS only. I guess if you had a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) and brought it somewhere with wifi or ethernet you could load the storeFront as well and bring it to your home and plug it the UPS back your into your home outlet. Once the apps are loaded on the aTV they are stuck until it loses power. So you could hook it to a local router LAN and use PMS on it after it pulls a ip and you switch the DNS. Just pray you don't lose power otherwise you will have to take a trip back to wherever to load the apps back up on your aTV. Hope this helps
Also a wifi tether on a cell phone to just load the apps would work. I knew a guy that flew a airplane that did that as well to load the storefront and had a PMS server to watch local content while in the sky.
Nobody mentioned the sad apple :(

That's awesome

Umm... don't think I'd want my pilot watching the latest episode of Big Bang Theory while he's supposed to be flying
