PlexConnect ROCKS!

Just wanted to thank you for this amazing little piece of engineering.

It made me bring my aTV back to life.

Oh the joys of small remote controls... ;-)

Another high five from me!

My aTV2 was languishing on a really old jailbroken firmware so that I could run XBMC - I was viewing Plex via DLNA through that on the aTV which was just getting painful and having seen how well Plex runs via a Roku I knew there must be a better way.

And there it was: PlexConnect, no jailbreak necessary! So I've gone up to the latest firmware and away we go.

Good work!

Donate then

Why not just stay with 5.3 since Apple is still signing it and jailbreak using seas0npass? I only say that since there is numerous tricks you can do with a appletv 2 but the door is closing soon. Here is a good read:

+1 PlexConnect is an amazing piece of software. Get involved - provide feedback, write code - be part of something beautiful.

PlexConnect is the best invention since the penecillin  :D

This is a nice thread...

Thanks guys, I love your posts. :-D

PlexConnect is amazing.

I have been spreading the gospel to many friends.

Whenever I demo my system for people they are shocked that it is possible without jailbreaking the aTV.

I can only agree with TS  :D

It really truly does Rock! I have moved from Android XBMC boxes to ATVs running PlexConnect. I think these guys have created the single best reason to get an ATV3. Maybe PlexConnect is what Apple needs to push quarterly sales past the iPods. ;-)

It would be really speculator if PlexConnect was more integrated into the PMS application. Or is there was a better native Windows App/Service that would run what is done in the command prompt windows running PlexConnect.py.

Regards.

I was planning to actually start a thread with the same compliments.

PlexConnect is the best thing that Plex has seen in a long while (for me that is - I don't watch on the web or from apps)

The only thing I am trying to figure out is a daemonised plexconnect on freenas, but other than that nothing but compliments.

Perhaps an idea for settings: default view setting for movies/tv shows (individual) - currently it starts with "on deck" which for me the least used option of plex for movies, I do use it for tv-shows.
