PlexConnect - Setting a Different Port

Hey All -

 

First off -- Thank you so much for the development of this app.  It is great to get some real use on my ATV as I have switched my home server to Ubuntu from Windows.

 

Its been many, many users since I have used *nix. Over the last few weeks, I have placed LinuxMint on an old laptop and converted my home backup/media server to Ubuntu.

 

I was having difficulties getting PlexConnect to work. I have LAMP running (Apache hogging port 80) and was pulling my hair out as I could not get PlexConnect to link to my Plex. I ran a kill command on Apache2 and was able to finally get Trailers to load Plex.

 

My question, as I am running into roadblocks on researching an answer, is how do I enable/allow Port 8080 to be used for PlexConnect versus Port 80?

aTV will ALWAYS request data on port 80.

If you want to move PlexConnect to 8080 you need your Apache to forward port 80 to 8080... there are already some threads about this. Read on!
