Possible to run PlexConnect on a different port than 80?

I just pulled the latest PlexConnect code down to give it a whirl but it errors out as my home system runs a few web sites on port 80. I'm guessing the answer to this is no, but is there any way to change the port PlexConnect listens on (and my ATV connects to)?

No, it needs to be where the ATV is looking for it.

So the answer is YES you can run it on a different port but NO you cant tell the ATV2 to look anywhere other than 80.

Does that make sense?

So the end result is no, because the AppleTV cant be told to look elsewhere.

Thanks for the fast reply - I figured as much. So here’s another question: I know you can run PlexConnect on a different system than the one PMS is running on, but can that machine be on another network? My install of PMS is available to the internet.

Basically I have another Mac mini hosted elsewhere and would like to use that to run PlexConnect.

As time goes by, we might add a "WebServer" forwarding feature... at that point you would be able to set your WebServer to another port and forward the incoming requests to that new port. Currently not possible, though.

Is there any reason why you cannot look at it the other way and change the port of your home webserver to port 8080?
