PlexConnect with PlexPass - where to logon?

Hello,

First of all, a huge, enormous thank you to Baa and the entire PlexConnect crew. I bought the ATV3 a few months back, with the thought that a jailbreak wouldn't be far off. Then, a few days after my purchase, I discovered PlexConnect -- totally changed my habits. I use Plex on every device in our home network. My NAS runs PMS, as does my Macbook. Mobile devices like the ATV, both the iPhone of me and my girlfriend and even her Chromebook use Plex as the favorite and single mediaplayer!

Ontopic, just a quick question, that might sound kinda "noobish": what is the correct spot to logon to MyPlex (and therefor, PlexPass)? On the AppleTV? On PMS? Or on every single device which uses Plex?

And last but not least, how about security? What are the security implications of opening port 32400 on my router/modem and forwarding it to PMS? Is it in any way exploitable, insecure?

Again, thank you!

You can sign into myplex in the settings tab using plexconnect. I have opened port 32400 on my router pointed at my local pms. Im sure anything can be hacked into but pms has a login tab so unless you have the password I would think its secure, at least it has been in my expierence so far. There is no option to use your plexpass on plexconnect. Plexpass is for beta apps such as pms, pht and other plex releases in the release annocement tabs and can be used in some apps.

By signing in on the ATV you will get some Plexpass only features, such as individual watched statuses (we don’t have fast user switching implemented yet though), as well as access to any libraries shared with you.

If UPNP works on your router you may not need to permanently open 32400 but it is not a big concern (unlike port 53 or 80).
