PlexDash needs ability to control optimized versions!

The thing severely lacking from ANY of the plex interfaces is the ability to adequately control optimized versions. From the web interface, the method to control this is disorganized and confusing to say the least, but then this area is completely unavailable from the mobile apps and Android TV. Depending on the audio codec, I will frequently be unable to direct stream a particular movie or tv show, and for whatever reason the automatic transcoding doesn’t kick in, resulting in a general server error message. I then have to either fumble through the non mobile responsive web interface to set the show to start optimizing, or leave the comfort of my couch and go to my server to setup the optimization. It should not be this difficult! I was hoping to see this functionality in this new PlexDash app, but sadly it looks like it’s functionality isn’t any more useful than being able to see what’s playing or invoke a library scan… Disappointed.

You mean basically just the ability to kick off an Optimize… with the options in that dialog?

Yes exactly. Some way to create an optimized version other than from the server web interface. Not sure why but my nvidia shield won’t play anything coded as eac3, and won’t transcode on the fly either, instead it produces an error. The only remedy I’ve found is to create an optimized version which pre-transcodes the audio to a format that seems to not have the issue, but there’s no convenient way to do this from the mobile or Android tv app, only the server web interface which isn’t mobile responsive, so it’s hard to do from my phone’s small screen. Was hoping that optimized versions would eventually be integrated into the app, and thought this might finally be it seeing as it’s server focused.
