hardcode the plex ip (I assume your synology) in the plexconnect folder under settings

Okay changed Settings.py to:

g_settings = { \
    'enable_plexgdm'  :('True', 'False'), \
    'ip_pms'          :('192.168.2.9',), \

shoot sorry bro, that's about my limit for synology nas's, hopefully someone else can chime in here,  if you are in a pinch and really want to test you could run plex connect on a desktop.

what is the actual issue now?

GDM hasn't worked, but it looks to have added your server manually just fine.

Okay I now got a error on the Apple TV 3 when I open the Trailers app. It says Trailers unavailable. Also YouTube and all other 'apps' doesn't work anymore. If I change the DNS back it works again.

you'll need to manually edit the DNS settings then too, replace 8.8.8.8 with whatever your network normall uses.

Please... don't mess with "settings.py".

There is a "settings.cfg" file created for your innovations... and once .cfg is there, changes to the defaults in .py won't have any effect anyways.

looks fine, as far as setup for PlexConnect, all done.

If you still get no icons on your ATV, i would check the firewall setup on your Syn to ensure it is allowing the DNS requests.

>> what is the actual issue now?

Stupid question: You have PMS running on Synology as well?

I don't mess with Settings.py

Settings.cfg:

[PlexConnect]
port_pms = 32400
ip_dnsmaster = 192.168.2.254
loglevel = Normal
enable_dnsserver = True
ip_pms = 192.168.2.9
enable_plexgdm = True

The problem is that when I click Trailers on the Apple TV 3 nothing comes up except Trailers unavailable. Please try again later.

Yes PMS is running.

That was it Thank you so much. Got it running now. :)

>>   'ip_dnsmaster'    :('192.168.2.254',), \

Well.. those line are changed. It just tells me, someone altered setting.py. Don't... please.

What was wrong?

What was wrong?

Firewall in the Synology settings. So easy but I'm not that smart. :P

Dutch subtiltes (selected) not showing BTW. Is that normal?

>> Dutch subtiltes (selected) not showing BTW.

Don't know... no chance to check - nobody of us developers is speaking Dutch... :-D

Dutch works just fine for me.
