Hi.
I found a problem with .plexignore. If I add a line with special characters such as
Nøddepatruljen/*
it will completely prevent the scan from being able to finish. You can see that when it is working correctly images update etc on the web interface. If you add the above line it never does anything. Replacing the "ø" with "*" lets it work as intended.
I didn't post logs as I though this would probably be easy and more instructive to reproduce anyway. Let me know if you need logs.
Anyone notice if .plexignore allso have problems reading [ ] or other characters?
Hawk
I just saw this post and have also encountered problems with certain special characters.
I was trying to eliminate some sample files the regular scanner was allowing to remain. Some of these files contained the string ‘[SAMPLE]’. I was able to successfully eliminate files containing the string ‘!sample’ and ‘(sample)’ with the lines:
(Sample).mkv
!sample.mkv
When I attempted to add the line:
[sample].mkv
my entire library was dropped.
With the help of #plex I was able to workaround by using:
[sample.mkv
EDIT: note that escaping the [ and ] character did not work. (e.g. \[sample\].mkv)
Has anyone else run into issues with the .plexignore file like this?
Yeah, I’m having a really hard time trying to get plex to ignore a few folders with names like
_FolderA
I’m also struggling to make Plex ignore the folders with an underline in front “_”
I’d assume this is a bug but the developers don’t know about it?
Try using a * as a place holder for the special character. For the earlier example of _FolderA use *FolderA/*.
Sorry. I can see I never replied to this. It indeed worked. Thanks!
Just in case Plex devs are reading this it does not like the following characters if folder is named as:
