.plexignore not working for subfolders

Server Version#: 1.20.1.3252

Hi, I’m trying to create a .plexignore file that ignores all the files in the current directory, in addition to every file in all the subdirectories. These are the patterns I’ve tried:

*
*.*
*/*
*.*/*.*
*video source/*
video source/*
video source/*.*

Even when I specify the folder name, Plex still scans the files in that folder. If I place the .plexignore files in every subdirectory, then everything works as expected. But for some reason if I try to specify a directory that’s different from the one the .plexignore file is in currently, it doesn’t work. Any ideas?

I think I am seeing something similar in my music library. I have a .plexignore file that has the line

*/flac/*

This used to exclude all the subfolders that had ‘flac’ in the path, but since the most recent update it is not working any more. Has something changed?

Same here also for the “Plex Music” scanner.

Files in nested subfolders targeted by a previously valid .plexignore rule are no longer ignored. The previous version of Plex server would ignore files in nested subfolders. Files in a subfolder immediately below the folder containing .plexignore still works as expected in both versions of Plex server.

Details:

-Plex server accesses music files in a shared folder.

-The shared folder is “\mfg\Music\Uber\Rips”

-Folder to be ignored: “\mfg\Music\Uber\Rips\Rock\The Beatles\The Beatles - 1969 - Abbey Road [2009 Remaster]”

-.plexignore file location: “\mfg\Music\Uber\Rips”

-.plexignore file content:
Rock/The Beatles/The Beatles - 1969 - Abbey Road [2009 Remaster]/*

This does not work running Plex Server Version 1.20.1.3252. It used to work on the version I had prior to this.

If I put .plexignore in the folder “\mfg\Music\Uber\Rips\Rock\The Beatles” containing the line “The Beatles - 1969 - Abbey Road [2009 Remaster]/*” it will work.
