Just noticed a problem with PKC after fixing an incorrect series match on the plex server.
Using latest beta version and Kodi 18.1 on NVidia Shield…
I’m using direct paths to the plex server machine…
I have several episodes of Masterchef that I can see and play.
I then realised that the plex server chose the wrong version of Masterchef… it chose the spanish version… so I fixed the match to the UK version.
I restarted Kodi and I see the media artwork for the UK version. I see that there are several episodes to watch. But when I select the series in Kodi there is an empty folder. No episodes are shown.
I’ve tried resetting pkc’s database and doing a full rescan. Again, tells me there are episodes to watch, but nothing appears when I select the series.
I’ve tried rescanning the tv shows using plex and then resetting and rescanning from pkc. no joy.
I can see the episodes from a plex client. But the act of fixing the match has made them invisible from pkc using direct paths.
Is there any way to automatically download background art (fanart) for music artists or album information (the text blurbs about an album that Kodi displays when you press ‘i’) when albums are added to Plex? I get the artist thumbnails, artist blurbs, and album thumbnails from PMS, but not the fanart or album info.
I tried enabling “Download additional art from Fanart.tv” in PKC. That got me some missing album thumbnails, but no fanart. I can manually refresh the artist/album to download the items using the Kodi scraper, but I don’t know any way to automate it.
I am not sure if you remember this issue about the music track order.
When I add an album to play using the companion the first song always repeats itself. I noticed this still ha penning. I am using the latest plexkodiconnect and kodi 18.
Everything shows like its playing the second track. Kodi the app…
However the song playing is sitll the first one.
Additional i noticed with the new version I cant use the plen website to work with the companion it crashes kodi. I can use the plex app on my phone to send music to the kodi companion without seeing this crash issue
PlexKodiConnect keeps getting suck on 10 or 15 percent on the initial sync. I reinstalled multiple times, no fix. I looked through the log and I saw errors relating to Alexa, so I’ve disabled that. Now it’s stuck at 36 percent with this error.
ERROR: PLEX.plexgdm: Could not download clients for [mydomain.com]
I’ve spent way to long trying to fix this…
Edit: Now it’s stuck at 5 percent with no errors. Then after 2mins, it shows the above error again.
Hi , I have read the post and your answers , regarding running a python script to remove the thousands of playlists that PKC is adding to my plex server, I am not going to attempt that process its completely beyond my capabilities, so i have some questions please , Is there a way to completely delete the contents of my PMS then reload it all so that the playlist content is permanently removed. I can delete the kodi databases of the few devices I have and then switch to using smb to access the content of my hard drives in kodi locally. I have a few family members who access my PMS from outside of my network but they are using plex apps so I won’t need to use PKC for them , basically what I am saying is , that although I like to use PKC in Kodi , I can’t get around this “playlists” issue, so I want to carry on using plex rather than having to pay for emby when I already have a Plex Pass " subscription. Thanks in advance.
You will have to re-setup your Plex libraries and re-download fresh metadata.
You could continue using PlexKodiConnect - BETA version 2.7.5 should fix the playlist issue. This cleaning up is hence a one time thing
Edit - make sure every Kodi instance is not running when doing this. Additionally to the steps you need to do that I linked above, you need to delete the playlists subfolder in the Kodi userdata folder for every Kodi. Otherwise, playlists get synced back
I’ve read what I believe to be all 4500+ posts but don’t see my issue. I use a media manager(Media Companion) to import and select artwork for Plex on a desktop machine. I then use PKC in Kodi on my Nvidia Shields. The problem is, PKC doesn’t seem to pull in all my artwork. I use a thumbnail view in an Aeon mod skin and have set 4 thumbnails in my movies folders. None of them display. I don’t want to use Artwork Beef to get extra art because I’ve already done that, it’s in the folders on my desktop that runs the PMS. And AB can’t find the artwork locally since it’s not local.
I’m sure there has to be a way to make this work. Thanks!
The escaped characters need to begin after the /Google%20Drive/My%20FullName/ and at the moment using the setting in PKC is escaping the already escaped characters which are set on mount.
Is this something that can be fixed because running a PMS server through the cloud with limited bandwidth makes this an excellent use case?
