Ok i am confused about the “show information”
after a fresh install and using addon"default" and change absolutely nothing
When i go into the movies page and hit “i” on the keyboard nothing happens
When i go into the TV Shows page and hit “i” it works as should
While playing a movie and hit “i” it works as should
and to make it more confusing ,when i switch to the Titan skin it is all the same as above except it works as it should with the movies only on the Widget section.
Should i not see the info in the movies page
It has been like this for me since version 12
Thanks
Thats how mine is now but I cant info on TV either. Its worked for me up until trying out 17.

So when you hit “i” in the movies panel before 17 it worked?

Yep. Installed 17, had a crashing on exit issue (working now btw) so I went back to 16. Info context menu item and hitting “i” both now don’t work.
Im pretty sure that @croneter is aware of this happening but couldn’t remember if he felt he resolved it or not.
UPDATE: Ive done nothing other than shut down Kodi last night and just now starting it up. Information is back and working as expected. Weird.
Its strange , for me it hasn’t worked since 11 but the context menu has always and still works, thought it was maybe something to do with windows but i have tried both windows and openelec and get the same result.
Another odd thing is when i usually do a fresh install the “i” works on the movies page at the beginning but if i restart the PC it no longer works.

This plugin is pretty awesome, makes Kodi and Plex work together nicely. I have one small issue at the moment - 3D movies that I keep in a separate library in Plex show in the main movies library in Kodi, with no way to tell the difference. further to that, Kodi is unable to automatically detect the 3D type, even though the files are correctly named on the plex server (3D.SBS etc)
Is this a known issue?
This is a Kodi / Bravia issue I believe. Mine all show a 3D flag but only 50% automatically play in 3D. You have to tell the tv to switch mode by using the display options > 3D section via the smart phone app. That option won’t appear by pressing Action and getting to display options, hence using the smartphone app as a workaround.

If I delete a movie from my server, do I have clean my kodi library, and not just update, to delete it from pkc?
Nope. That’s the beauty of the add on. It syncs the Kodi database with Plex. No more database management of any kind. As long as your using the default add on setting and not direct path option it will sync every 30 minutes.
I tried again with a totally fresh 15.2 on Openelec. Still the same issue. Watch status and new added items to the server synchs perfectly. But when I delete an item, say a movie, from the server it still shows in the kodi library. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

@croneter said a few posts back (and I was mistaken in my assumption that the constant sync did this) that you either have to wait 30 minutes for a background full resync to take place. You can also initiate one from the PKC settings. I am guessing also quitting and restarting Kodi would trigger a full sync?

Thanks!! And just now after 30 minutes the movie vanished from kodi thank you for clearing that up.
Hi, I’m running vanilla Kodi 16 and PMS on Ubuntu 15.10 (64 bit) on an Intel NUC plugged into the telly. Have installed 0.17 of PlexMediaConnect, its TV & Movie dependencies (and the undocumented scripts.module.requests dependency). They all install ok, but I have trouble getting it to see the PMS on the same machine. If I log in with a PIN, it asks me if I want to connect to my friends’ remote servers, but mine is missing from the list. If I skip the PIN, I get my local server in the list, but fails to connect to it (“Not yet authorized…”). I have tried several scenarios (by deleting everything in ~/.kodi except the addons dir, otherwise it is tedious to reinstall 4 plugins from zips every time!) Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?
Update: (if anyone’s interested) disabled home, it all works nicely without me having to authenticate by disabling home users, which is PITA anyway. See @BigWheel at this post. It does seem though that for me, I couldn’t get it working with 1.0.17 and home users (PINs) enabled.
I’ve been using this on my kodi setup since it came out. It works well, even on my OG ipad 1. I read this board and I noticed the colonr thing. You really have to rename your files. Its not a kodi thing, its a plex thing. After downgrading plex to good ol’ version 9.11.16 and trial and error, i finally got it to run smooth and upgraded to whatever new update. First thing. Delete emby from kodi or disable. Reaname those files appropriately. Install the three files and sign in to plex via the internet code. The thing i noticed was plex disconnecting each device i had not kodi. Once i changed my device names in kodiplex i was able to sync across multiple devices after signing in each device or copying my kodi backup from the desktop to the other device. I like this plugin!
I have a bit of an odd setup and would appreciate some help on how to set up the addon paths.
My plex server lives on my W10 PC, this works well as its powerful, efficient and always on. All my media is on my weak ass Synology Nas. It’s added to my plex server via mapped drives in Windows (as I couldn’t get UNC paths to work with plex).
How should I set the addon up to do this? For example a movie will be in plex as ‘x:\rocky\rocky.mkv’ on my plex server with ip 192.168.0.98, but ideally Kodi would play this as ‘nfs://192.168.0.175/films/rocky/rocky.mkv’
Is this mixing of server and file locations possible and how can I do it? I’m keen to move away from plexbmc as its a bit flaky.
Just gave this addon a try and while it works ok there appears to be a few issue’s:
1. I think was already mentioned that a Plex home enabled server is not showing up in the list of selectable servers.
2. When Trailers are enabled the setting for number of trailers to show before a movie is not honored it just keeps playing trailers unless you have ask to play trailers turned on and click NO after you are asked again if you want to play trailers (after the selected number have been played).
3. Really needs multi-server support I use Plex with my own server and my brother's server so it would be annoying to have to keep switching servers / syncing.
4. It would be handy to have the manual sign in feature like PLEXBMC has instead of having to use a pin (much easier to setup for family / friends).
Other than that it appears to be working well I synced my brother’s remote server in about 2 minutes with 1000+ tv episodes and 200+ movies.

Not an odd setup at all, it mirrors mine exactly!
If you want Kodi to play the files directly then in PKC settings, choose “Playback Mode” as “Native(direct paths)”. Then use “Replace Plex UNC paths \myNas with smb://myNas”.
I’m using the direct paths now, but had a little trouble getting it working as they’d fail to play. The problem was credentials. I turned on the guest account on the NAS giving it permissions on those shares and it all started working. Since then, I’ve amended the passwords.xml with a user name and password from the Synology enabling me to turn the guest account back off.

Thanks for that, I’ll give it a go using nfs, instead of smb, assuming that’s supported. It should take away the need for credentials.
I’m having widget issues on 17 with multiple Kodi profiles. Switching between them kills the widgets, rebooting fixes it for whichever profile logs in, but then they break as soon as I switch profiles.

Change your skin settings to allow the enter button to default from play to “Show information”
Yeah that was the first thing I thought to check. No matter that setting, no information comes up. It just starts playing. Last night, my context menu wouldn’t come up at all.
