Guys, pros and cons (if any) using direct paths instead of default setting? I have an i3 nuc for kodi and an i5 Mac mini server so I’m not on the edge. Will I only gain speed when starting playback? Thanks.
asking the same question, any more advantages?
and a thing i dont understand: if i decide to change to direct path, do i have to change the setup of my PMS? or can i just change that behaviour with the replaced path in the PKC ?
Question. What is the status of playlists? What I am hoping to eventually be able to do is add a movie to a playlist on a Plex client (say on my iPhone) and then be able to access that playlist via PKC. I know I/we have asked for this early on but cant recall if its even possible?
Finally, someone did it! Works pretty good, on osx it worked directly. On rpi2 (osmc) I had some problem with crashes when it processed about 200 things (using direct path), but if you reboot (from kodi, not ssh) from time to time during initial scanning it saves your current progress and continues when rebooted on new stuff! Also som ascii problem, but renamed the files and now it running without errors.
Are the pluggins going in to a repository so we get automatic updates?
I am using version 1.0.16, in plex and plexpy i now see what is playing.
But if i watch a live tv then the last played episode shows up as running in plex and plexpy, but nothing is played on that moment from plex.
Is this a known problem?
Should it be possible to use PKC alongside the Video-Extras Kodi add-on? I can’t seem to access the “information” page for movies and tv shows anymore and thats where the Video-Extras option was.

One advantage of direct paths is better plug-in support. For example, OpenSubtitles will only correctly identify your movie and offer subs if using direct path. Another is smoother forward and reverse seek.
I left my PMS server as it was and just turned on the first simple option for replace paths in PKC settings.
When browsing ie. the Recently Added Movies list, and changing something, for example marking a movie as ‘watched’, the list sometimes get’s messed up?

Great work!
Thanks
I would LOVE to get my hands on your logs to check out the ASCII problems. Any chance of that?

Would really like to get this going to finally be able to replace plexbmc but there are a few things I don’t understand how to set up. My PMS is located on the same machine. I’ve managed to set it up to be able to sync all the metadata (takes a loooong time with a big library though) but when I try to playback something it just says “REMOVE MOVIE FROM LIBRARY - This file is no longer available. Would you like to remove it from the library?” with YES or NO option.
My movies are located in F:/MOVIES and G:/MOVIES and my tv-shows are in F:/SERIES and G:/SERIES
I have the same question, but until know i thought it would be related to some connection problems with plex.tv.
Do you have PKC connected via plex.tv with pin or via manual ip?
First try going into PKC settings and using the advanced options to reset the entire library and settings. Use the option in red text.
If both of your Plex servers are internal to your network then just add it in PKC using the manual IP method. No need to sign in with Plex.tv at each log in. Let it rebuild your library then report back.
I had the same problem initially. I am using a FTV v2 box on all of the systems in my home and on two of the systems i kept getting this. I tried uninstall and reinstall without relief. I finally noticed the full reset option on advanced and that fixed it. Additionally, I am setting up my system with manual IP because it doesnt seem to find my PMS upstairs by itself. I am using .16 of the code and noted that this was either fixed or improved in the .17 version will try that today. A few questions on moving versions forward.
I loaded the PKC movies, the PKC TV then PKC itself. Do I need to unload all three to move PKC from .16 to .17, OR do i only need to uninstall PKC alone and load the PKC .17 piece.
Will there eventually be a “Search” function in PKC. I understand this is Beta at this time, so just wanted to ask that question and see if there was a timetable for this feature. If it is not planned, what would be the chances on getting one added?
Thanks for all the hard work.
P.S. For the most part the entire process of loading the PKC went flawless with only a few minor hiccups on AFTV box. Keep up hard work and let me know if I can help in any small way.

Al
Only PKC itself, you may leave the other two
No. Does not make sense as you can use kodi functions to search
##Changelog## version 1.1.0
(you will need to rescan your library)
No constant polling of your PMS anymore! (use websockets)
Fix ‘NameError: global name ‘guidoc’ is not defined’
Fix time sync for Music items
Music: set default rating to 0, not NULL
Music: scrape Studio/Label
On Deck doesn’t seem to be working for me with a complete wipe and reinstall of add-on to newest version. This is with only one Kodi profile for now (I was having issues with widgets in 1.0.17 with multi Kodi profiles everytime I logged in a dif user).
If I launch the addon itself and drill into On Deck for TV Shows, it is empty.
Trying to install 1.1.0 on my openelec / kodi 15.2 nuc I get the “addon does not have the correct structure” error. Also tried uninstalling PKC 1.0.17, deleting the folder from addon data, and starting from scratch but same error occurs. Only me?
