Have tried install/uninstall. Have the latest updates on my ios. The mac is from 2006 I think. Just had it fixed in june, and it eont play sims4. Tried everything. And now I have tried everything with plex. There is a program root patcher something that I was told to install to fix some bugs in mojave. Only rebooting it to a previous version only makes the wifi go away. I have been at this for hours. I tried everything on the help page. I am at my witts end here. Need to watch my shows!
If the Plex Media Server won’t start and doesn’t even get to the stage where it’ll be writing to the server logs, you can attempt the following procedure to see if there’s any error messages on the OS level:
Open Finder and navigate to /Applications
Select Show Content from the context menu of the Plex Media Server.app item
Navigate to Contents/MacOS
Open the Terminal app
Drag the Plex Media Server executable from the Finder window (#3) into the Terminal Window and press Return to execute it
This is no different from running the app, so it won’t succeed – but you should get a more specific error message about what’s causing it to fail starting.
Hey bud, Tom’s debug method is great, but in case it doesn’t enumerate your issue very wall I’m curious what version of MacOS you’re running? (Apple menu → About)
I’m guessing your combination of MacOS version and modern PMS aren’t compatible because your computer is nearly 20 years old.
There’s a supported version matrix somewhere. Good luck!
