PlexPass 1 month trial

Just thought this might cut down the admin footprint required to support people who claim 'i bought plexpass just for sync but it isn't working very well, i want my money back'.

How about offering a 1 month trial to people to make sure they are happy with the 'bleeding edge' of Plex?

I know many see PlexPass as a support mechanism for Plex (myself included) but many do purchase PlexPass for specific features and are surprised when they don't work 100%.

Just an idea.

there is a monthly one you can just cancel if you don't like it. or upgrade if you do

I did know that and i suppose that is ok but in spite of these options i still read posts about people requesting a refund because XYZ didn't work.

It would completely cull that IMO.

It might also minimise the 'i've bought PlexPass and assigned it to the wrong account'. Maybe not a huge issue but one could simply forget the 'wrong' account and re-sign for a different account.

This doesn't really affect me, i have lifetime pass and i'm vary happy i do but i'm trying to think about average Joe and the Plex admin/support responsibilities.

yeah i understand. I didn't mean you personally.

I, for one, already bought the android application. In this application I missed the feature to sync a media file.

I needed plexpass for this, it said. Because I had money in my PayPal account which I got after developing software for the public domain I decided to use that money for this project.

I have a bitter feeling because I rewarded this project and paid for something that isn’t working. This project is a fork of XBMC and I’ve been using that for 12 years. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit they never received any money from me and paying another party for their work makes me feel even worse.

Although I never paid for open source software I did develop a lot of stuff for the public domain without expecting a reward.

So, the bottom line is that I’m not sad about the money itself but more to where it went (they lied to me).

Cheers

This project is a fork of XBMC

the only thing that has anything to do with XBMC is the Plex Media Center and Plex Home Theater clients. both of which are free and always will be. The free server and all other paid clients were written from scratch. or Im pretty sure plex inc would be getting sued or something of that nature

So, the bottom line is that I'm not sad about the money itself but more to where it went (they lied to me).

I don't understand how anyone "lied" to you exactly. its not like there is some eveil dude rubbing his grubby hands together proud that he put something over on some suckers. plenty of people sync every day without issue. if there is a reason it is not working for you I'm sure the devs would like to figure out why.

I don't understand the "where it went" part either. where did it go?
