Has anyone had any success in easily getting PlexPy on a Readynas? Specifically the readynas ultra which I beleive is the x86 OS.
I don’t know if the NetGear has Python installs from the software store for the device. That’s the first step, getting Python 2.7 working on the NAS. For Asustor there is an App Store to install Python and a lobotomized Perl. The ReadyNAS web app should have the same type of thing, doesn’t it?
From there it’s just making a directory and putting the PlexPy files in it. It needs to be called via a terminal window or some sort of shell to make it work. And you are going to need to edit a few OS level files, too, I’m sure, to get everything else working.
This isn’t for the feint of heart or the technically un-inclined. If you don’t have the right knowledge or skills it’s better to ask someone with those skills on that set of forums for help.
Thanks for the reply. I do have python installed on my readynas as I needed it to get plexconnect working. I will have to ask around in the readynas forums and see if anyone has a guide. Thank you
