plexWatch/Web - A web front-end for plexWatch

Hi, I'm having issues with the timing being off.. see the debug log for PlexWatch below

and then the screenshot of what actually is reporting on the web interface.. also, any reason why the IP isn't showing?

The first time you ran plexWatch/Web a welcome modal appeared. Did you verify the timezone for your web server was correctly set? If you want to check that again, simply delete your config.php file in /config and the navigate to any page of plexWatch/Web.

As for the IP address, do you have plexWatch setup to log IP addresses?

I want to take the time to thank both ljunkie and eleese for taking their time to develop some awesome additions to an already robust Plex Media Server!  :D

Included are images of my current use of both of these addons. plexWatch works great with Growl for Windows and I've received notifications on my phone as well via Pushover. In regards to plexWatchWeb, I've only had it installed for less than a day and I love the all the statistics that it provides via the plexWatch database file  B)

Keep up the good work folks :) !!

plexWeb displaying wrong values or plexWatch wrong logging ?

It seems that the end of 2 plays were missed as it reports one time a duration of 554 minutes and the second time 1465 minutes which clearly wrong.

554 minutes looks correct to me if it started at 1:04pm and ended at 10:18pm. My guess on the other other one would be playing started the day before at 12:52pm and ended the next day at 1:17pm which would be just over 24 hours. 1465 minutes is 24.42 hours

I've seen Plex Media Server do this a couple times on my own system. For some reason the transcode session wouldn't quit for a crazy amount of time.

shinrakurisu,

Awesome to hear everything is working great for you. Thanks for the kind words and screenshots!

it was a xampp error. the timezone was set incorrectly there.

i went into the plexwatch and edited the ip addresses. everything works GREAT! you guys are great, you and ljunkie.

Do I need to do anything special with plex on atv2 to make it appear in plexwatch?  All other clients connecting to my PMS shows up, but not from my ATV2.

This isn't really a plexWatch/Web problem but if you are running a jailbroken ATV the last I've read is that it does not support status session reporting to PMS. If you want the Apple TV to work with plexWatch you need to use Plex Connect.

Seems a bit odd since I used to use some other reporting tool with the atv2 earlier. (And that worked until the maintainer had some issues)

But I will investigate this evening.

The other reporting tool I'm guessing was plex reporter or something? It used server logs. plexWatch requires the client to work with PMS 'now playing'. The jail broken ATV2 app does not support it. Sorry, but that's the case unless someone fixes/updates that client.

oh man, this was the main reason for installing plexwatch and I even purchased PlexPass for this

Well, sorry to hear that, but you know I did document you must have a client that supports 'now playing'

Not sure if this has been said in the thread already, but I had to install php5-json before it worked, probably because of this: http://stackoverflow.com/a/18239665

Excellent work though, very nice interface.

Thanks for the heads up. I will add this to the requirements and welcome modal.

Great job!  I now have plexWatchWeb working on my Ubuntu 13.10 server.  Thanks for the excellent work.

Just a thought - Would it be possible to have "most watched shows/movies past week" chart? :)

(I´m assuming the charts are a PlexWatchWeb function, not a PlexWatch?)

Can someone explain what the Grouping options do?

Can someone explain what the Grouping options do?

The grouping option is the default of what "plexWatch.pl --watched" does. It will group start/stop events into one if all of the following are true

  • video was stopped/started within a few hours of each other
  • video is played by the same user
  • video was NOT fully watched ( completed )

You can enable disable that setting on the fly. If disabled then every start/stop will count as a "play" and a line item will show. So you might have 20 plays for someone that started a video and kept resuming it all day long, but really only watched it once.

Yes, the charts are a plexWatch/Web feature. Weekly Top 10 charts is on the enhancements list and will be added in a future release of plexWatch/Web.

Just installed ~20 mins ago...

With that said...

There is nothing in several of the tabs/pages, is that because there is not enough data yet?

Also should I be able to edit my settings once in the settings page? I click PMS & Database and nothing is displayed.

Thank you for your hard work on this!
