PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

A way to mark multiple episodes watched at once from the UI would be awesome.

Thank you so much! I deselected No spoilers without OSD in PM4K’s Video Player settings, which restored normal behaviour.

I fine-tuned my setup by choosing -10 and +10 for Skip steps in Kodi’s Player > Videos setting, and then went ahead and enabled the Use skip step settings from Kodi in PM4K’s Add-on > Player settings. I’ve not enabled Use Plex/Kodi steps for timeline.

Now everything works exactly as I’d like it to. Thanks again!

Wait, what did that setting fix/break? Also what I was talking about: You enabled this probably on your first run of the addon, right? Because it’s not enabled by default.

Sometimes I forget to press Skip Intro. Would be nice if pressing a button to show the OSD after skip intro has disappeared on screen (but is still available to be selected), would jump straight to the skip intro button so I can turn 4 button presses into 2.

1 to wake up the OSD, 1 to press enter and skip the intro.

Yeah. There are multiple optimizations possible here. It’s getting hard to ā€œget it rightā€ for everyone, though. I have this on my list already to explore this.

Thanks!

Correct, I enabled it while playing around with the settings and, in hindsight, without quite understanding it! I think I felt it was broken because I wasn’t expecting it to do +30 and while playing around with it maybe thought that it was skipping chapters.

I now realise that, IIRC, the native Plex player does the same (-10/+30). However, I think this potentially gets a little confusing in PM4K as, unlike in Plex which has a subtle animation, there is no on-screen indication of the skip duration.

Hey! Thanks again for this wonderful addition to my setup! I have 2 features on my ā€œwishlistā€ that I’d like to mention I’m not sure if the second has been mentioned previously or not. I’m pretty sure the first has though. The first is collections on home (like default Plex). The second is what I call ā€˜collection collating’ ie ā€œCollectionā€ in both TV and Movies library would show their items in ā€œCollectionā€ no matter which library viewed from (again like default Plex). Just wanted to toss that out there; absolutely 0 rush of course. Thanks again!

You got AM6B+?

yes he mentioned it in a later post.

Btw, for A14, are you using latest NG build or specifcically CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.2-Omega_20250302082815 one?

it does not matter, you can start with stable 21.2 then update to A14, I use custom version of CPM that is newer than A14.

Is it open source or you’ve build it for yourself? If it’s open source, maybe you could share what you’re using? Thanks.

P.S Not sure if 21.2 is possible to use, because then there will be no FEL support, as it’s running on 5.X kernel, unless A14 downgrades it to 4.9

this is the build I run.

what I mean with 21.2 is Omega NG stable and update to CPM version.

Random question, how do I install the plextuary skin? I feel like I am missing something simple here. Lol

Here you go:

Oh silly me. I have been looking at the wrong repository the whole time. Lol. Thank you!

Anyone who uses SMB on CoreElec or even Android? I was using it for path mapping with Plex. I used SMB with a password for months, but when I ran some tests, I left it passwordless for about two days and ran into complications. I recommend leaving your Windows system requiring a password to access SMB. I had 5TB of movies and series that were open on SMB without a password hacked by ransomware. Fortunately, I was able to download them again, but imagine if it were a shared folder with more sensitive files. Another recommendation when sharing the folder on Windows: leave read-only enabled. Chers. Thanks for the constant updates, panni!!

So you exposed a consumer windows port 445/139 to the internet without authentication? I ask this specifically because exposing anonymous shares within a local network isn’t an issue per se. Doing so on a windows machine and exposing the ports is a massive no go, though, IMHO.

I think so, then I checked and the modem’s DMZ mode was also active… I disabled DMZ mode.

Oh yeah. DMZ fully exposes a machine. Never ever use that in a private network
