PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

1.1.4-beta2: script.plexmod.zip (3.2 MB)

Changelog:

  • Core: Clarify variables states for hasCustomBGColour and add useSolidBackground (fixes a very rare issue with badly retained background images when solid background is wanted but no color set; thanks @andybkma)
  • Player/CoreELEC CPM/Codec Logos: Fix logos not hiding or appearing in multiple scenarios
  • Episodes: Fix long scrolling episode titles cutting off remaining time pill

Also pushed skin.plextuarycpm: 4.0.0-pm4k1.12cpm.a14.10 to Don’t Panic, which incorporates Jamal’s cross compatible improvements for CPM A14, avdvplus R1 and U3k B5.

Edit: @legend might fix your issue as well.

I usually always use the latest version of the skin from your repository with a hide speed setting of 8000ms.

And this problem definitely occurs with the current version.

What exactly do you mean with “blackout enabled during seek on start”?

I want to give it a try.

Thanks for the new version…

Will try it, when i’m at home later!

Hi panni, discovered a new bug regarding file deletion in your 1.1.4 betas. After deleting an episode (file) a “blank ghost “ episode appears. Hope easy to duplicate

In this example here are The Lowdown episodes I have left :

I now delete Episode 5 because I have watched it :

Now we get the weird blank ghost :

Do you have caching enabled in PM4K?

For “Cache Plex data for” I have Media Items & Libraries selected.

And “Persist cached plex data” is off

Note 1 - these are the same settings I had for 1.0.5e/f final and never got the ghost

Note 2 - For testing purposes I just now deselected Media Items & Libraries and the ghost reappeared after deleting ep7 so no change.

When backing out then reentering the show the ghost is gone. But when deleting an ep therein the ghost comes again.

Season finished (8 eps).

@panni

I know it might sound annoying after you have just responded to a request, and I apologize for asking, but here it is: is there any way to return to the previous shade of the background (greyish black), other than reinstalling the previous beta? The new solid black background makes for too strong a contrast and it’s upsetting to my eyes. The next color tile that can be selected (Raisin Black?) is way too light. The old background was “just right”, at least for me. Can that shade tile be readded or its code input manually?
L.E. NVM, I’ve downgraded to beta 1.

You can edit the settings.xml directly and enter any hex value you like in Userdata/addon_data/script.plexmod

Do you happen to know the code for the previous shade of black that used to be the default background or where i can find it? Because downgrading solved nothing and I would hate to reinstall an older system image, reinstall PM4K from scratch and make sure it doesn’t update past beta 1.

Not sure exactly but something like FF101010 should be dark grey

Thank you!

L.E. You were right, that value is just right. Thanks again! Phewwww…

I installed the new update.

It looks like the codec logos are now always displayed immediately.

Thanks for the quick fix!

So just wondering, how hard is it to customize the pre-play screen? I wouldn’t mind doing some playing around to see what I can come up with, but just not sure if there’s any documentation to get a person started? TIA!

That shade tile was always #000000 black, that it looked gray was a bug. You can set it to #111111 (FF111111) and that should be the old color.

Edit: I’ll check if I can re-add that color in the skin (not sure if I have access to that)

Aaaah. That looks like the pagination placeholder, nothing cache related. I’ll take a look tomorrow.

Is there a way to change the playback speed of the video? I have tried looking but couldn’t find it in the video settings.

Nope, AFAIK not. Also not sure if this is even possible right now. This would disable passthrough audio and would probably introduce a lot of issues including bad audio pitch.

1.1.4-beta3: script.plexmod.zip (3.2 MB)

Changelog:

  • Episodes: Fix deleting an episode created a pagination placeholder
  • Player: Stop abusing playback_started state for codec logos; implement playback_started_event instead
  • AddonSettings: Allow specifying a custom background color (when dynamic backgrounds are disabled); overrides preset colors if set

skin.plextuarycpm: 4.0.0-pm4k1.12cpm.a14.11 pushed as well, to use the new playback_started_event flag beta3 introduced for codec logos in CPM based builds.

@legend please confirm codec logos are still working.
@Korbus47 you can now configure your own custom background color in AddonSettings
@andybkma should be fixed

The old PM4K fallback is 111111. I’m sure he’ll find a color that suits him
