Yeah, I’ve just checked how the watchlist works. It doesn’t allow you to actually watch something if you have it available on your Plex instances. Interesting.
I’ll have to investigate. Thank you for the pointers.
There might be an obvious reason why the plex clients themselves don’t allow the watchlist to be a “navigation source” that actually results in looking at a media item available on a plex server. But that might well be a legal thing. Again, I’ll investigate.
No problem, I did my best to help and understand.
I don’t know too much about it, I just wanted to let you know that it’s missing in the addon.
It would be nice if this could be implemented somehow without much effort.
I think some users miss this too, but have not written anything about it except me.
In any case, thank you for your attention, you are really doing a fantastic job.
I’ve been thinking about whether it would make sense to try and get the next stable version of PM4K into the official kodi addon repository btw. Any thoughts?
@frequenzy, This is what I said when it was my turn to headscratch about applying an earlier beta.
“Anyhow, I think I’m trying your 0.6.3-beta 10 now. Initially I tried “install from zip” but I think I’m right in thinking your zip needs to be unzipped and then it replaces script.plexmod in my addons directory. ( my addon.xml says beta 10 but about in the addon settings still says 0.6.2-1) I’ll use it later today and will report back if I notice anything.EDIT I now know it takes a reboot to come into effect.”
Having this in the Kodi repository makes a lot of sense. You’re hard to find here. I have steered people on Libreelec, Coreelec and Osmc forums in this direction when they have posted in search of a quality Plex client but I’ll bet they had tried Kodi first.
Just been looking at kodi and the plex add on. It fixes a lossless audio issue i got on the cube 3 but was wondering if i am missing something and going to ask does this have matching framerate support as switching manually will just be a right pain and need matching fps support.
Hello
Since about 2 1/2 weeks I’m not able to watch a stream.
I’m using a Android 10 tv-box with kodi 20 + PM4K 0.6.2.
As my troubles startet kodi was always buffering, meanwhile it crashes completely and closes automaticly down.
It the same with my mobile phone with Android 13.
I also tried with older kodi versions, no sucsess.
With my Fire TV devices it works without any problems.
It doesn’t depent on my provider, I tried it with two differend ones.
OK guys, last beta before tomorrow’s release (unless you find anything massive): script.plexmod.zip (3.5 MB) (0.6.3-beta24, should be installable directly).
This’ll be 0.6.4 I think as I’ve accumulated a lot since 0.6.2.
A small excerpt vs. 0.6.3-beta21:
slow connection mode fixed and hardened
support for Kodi’s new Buffer/Cache GUI settings in kodi-master instead of advancedsettings.xml
hardened in-video next/prev handling and bingeMode
fix display delay of embedded subtitles, even when switching while playing back (!) (switching to embedded sub while playing back results in a 1 second back-seek to make this work); long-standing kodi issue
fix chapters not showing when no markers are present
allow round-robin in settings and suboptions and user switch
allow cancelling user switch
remember currently selected user in user switch
fix reactivating plugin after it’s been minimized
add option to minimize on exit instead of exiting
fix pressing back on exit dialog exits the plugin; now closes dialog instead of exiting
add playback settings manager which replaces “Enable/Disable TV Binge-Mode” to fully customize behaviour per show (cheap, hacky approach, but works well); previous binge-mode settings are migrated to the new storage format, automatically
Instant reaction, great idea to add minimise option to the exit menu. Delighted that reactivating after minimise is fixed, can’t tell you how many times I’ve fallen foul of that one.
Will be using in depth later but I doubt I’ll have anything negative to report.
I’m getting crashes on fedora 39 with kodi 20.2. I think it’s more a kodi issue than plexmod though as I’m seeing these in the dmesg output after the crash.

I think I had a similar issue before and @panni found out it was an issue with kodi or some module kodi uses. Perhaps fedora didn’t add the python 3.12 fixes properly for kodi. Using flatpak kodi with plexmod does not seem to suffer from this issue.
Other than that 1 small issue I noticed is that there’s no visual indicator of an incorrect pin being entered when switching user. But I don’t think the plex web interface gives any either.
Update: The plex interface does actually shake and clear the entered pin if it’s invalid.
Update 2: Another small issue I noticed was that the skip intro countdown continues to count down even if the video is paused after skip intro is displayed.
