I can reproduce this issue every time. If I switch to TV mode and back, then go to the Settings (of the standard, non-TV view), it will hide all advanced settings, switch the clock back from 24-hour to 12-hour display and change the Quality setting from “Maximum” to the default “2 Mbps, 720p”.

Forgot to add, it also resets the grid view size so I have to resize the icons manually.
Thanks VarHyid, this is an annoying known issue. Certain actions will cause settings from layout to break another. There’s no timeline for addressing it.
How do you even change back and forth? I saw something about a button that you hover over but I don’t have it.
Just upgraded/reinstalled all the mediapc’s (attached to tv’s) in the house and I can’t get any of them to switch. This is soooooo frustrating. I’ve spent 30 minutes on the forums searching and on google and I cannot find the answer to this one simple question.
There’s an icon in the top-right area while you’re in TV mode. It’s only visible when you move the cursor with a mouse.
Thanks. I figured it out. I was using the new plex app, the one you get when you follow the download links from the plex website. Turns out you need the plex media player which is a separate, somewhat hidden/hard to find download. That’s where the hover over the bar thing was that I was missing.
Really dislike how plex has handled all of this. It’s a mess.
