Good evening, I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out what went wrong. The whole system was running PERFECTLY until I updated some drivers and set up my new TV.
The setup:
HTPC- With all Blu-Rays ripped to hard disk encoded in h.264 while keeping the DTS-MA DTS and AC3 audio untouched.
Connected via HDMI (high speed) to my Pioneer Elite SC-99 5.1 system.
Connected via HDMI to my new OLED LG TV.
During playback the receiver tells me I am playing stereo (and it is stereo 2.0) when Plex tells me its outputting in DTS. If I tell Plex to play DD AC3 format in 5.1 it will do that without a problem…
ARC has been turned off between TV and Receiver just in case that was the issue. I restarted all devices to ensure that it wasn’t as simple as that. The system was running fine until adding the TV. Plex settings are the same from what I can see. Computer settings have not changed. I took another look at the Receivers settings which appear unchanged and the TV should have nothing to do with audio since I have turned off ARC.
I need it to play DTS because a lot of MGM films are mastered in DTS only.
Any thoughts?
