[PMS] Additional Scheduled Task

Hey,

Now that we have scheduled tasks, awesome, I was wondering if we could add an option to empty the system trash nightly?

My machine (OS X) is strictly for Plex, so eliminating another reason for me to manually perform maintenance on the machine would be fantastic.

(Mods: if this isn't technically possible, then please lock/delete)

what would be the benefit of doing this nightly, versus just doing it immediately with the existing option (given the stated goal is to not have to touch the machine?)

I would think the advantage would be that if you were moving a file or replacing it with an updated version (because of an issue in the media, etc) then the metadata is not purged and collected again.

Just enable it on library update if you want to automate it (I don't because of potential access issues on media)

And library updates can be set on intervals..

How do I empty the system trash on a library update? (Not Plex .trash files, all files in .trash)

you could automate it in your OS ( http://www.macworld.com/article/1165305/emptying_the_trash_automatically.html )

Why I never thought to use Automator. Man I'm dumb. Thanks!

early 2021 clean-up: implemented (indirectly -> scheduled scan + automatic empty trash)
