I have PMS setup to create collections, works fine no issues… I am however trying to work out if I am missing metadata info for the collection info?
…currently the collections are created and all it does is create a 4way split poster of said movie collection posters. Should it also be scrapping the Movie Database for the collection description etc? (As per Kodi & Emby?)
Just trying to work out if I have not enabled something somewhere or if PLEX has not implemented this feature yet?

no… as of today it’s all manual editing those descriptions, posters…
Damn - I was searching for an answer on this one, and now i have the answer - will the option to scrapping collection metadata be coming in future updates?
I’ve been reading somewhere in this forum that The Movie Database‘s API does currently not support such a lookup… if that’s correct, the most likely answer is „no“

I find this very bizarre considering Kodi & Emby do it and have been for many many years?!?!
you’re right… you can query collection details and the movie queries include information on the collection a movie belongs to.

Is there any chance that this might be implemented? I love that we got collections, but without the metadata it feels half baked. I hope this is looked at and finished. Thanks for listening.
I think the best way to get this implemented is to search the Suggestions forum, see if it’s already there as a suggestion, and if so, vote for it. If not, create one, and let us know here, and we can vote on yours
