For the “Use Collection information from TheMovieDB” You need to go into plex server settings>Agents>Movies>MovieDB and then click the little gear icon
Last question (hopefully) - so I have to re-scan my library, or refresh metadata, or analyse or Fix match the files, for the collections to be created ? Or would it be easier to delete my library (from Plex and let it re-scan from scratch ?
Refresh Metadata for the Library SHOULD do it, but the sure fire way to do it would be to re-create the library from scratch… It’s a pain in the rear, but it will work as expected… If you choose to go this route, for good measure, after you delete the library, and before you add the library back, just make sure you go into Plex>Troubleshooting and clean bundles and optimize database, then re-add the library.
I did notice that, and can put up with it until i find time to put them back to single movies.
One more thing I noticed - the poster for the collections is not being download from TMDB - is that a manual job, or do I just wait for it to happen automatically ?
Plex will only tag the movies with the collection name itself. Sadly you need to assign posters and descriptions yourself.
While there’s no „hide collections with only 1 item“ setting, you can manually override if/how each collection is displayed in that particular collection‘s advanced settings
Yeh, unfortunately that’s manual, I use: https://theposterdb.com/ though, because there’s a lot of custom posters for collections that look better and more uniform than the retail posters actually did.
