All releases are broken since since PMS 1.25.xxx the transcoder or somewhat is broken and lead inevitably to a crash of the server after few days of run…
It seems to happen when simultaneous users are watching streams, but I can’t see anything obvious in the log files. Here’s a paste from the logs from about 1m before the crash happened.
The only thing that I can think might be stressing the server is one person was watching an IPTV stream and the other was playing some saved content that was 720p HEVC (but pretty low bit rate so I wouldn’t have thought it would be too taxing)?
@ChuckPa - sorry about that - in my effort to be helpful with a log snippet, I wasn’t very helpful!
It’s DS418play so Celeron J3355 upgraded to 8gb of ram.
Yes, I do use Plex as DVR to record some IPTV streams. Though, when that crash happened I don’t think there was any scheduled to record at that time. I have been using Plex to record some daily news shows for the last two years and it’s been rock solid with never a crash until starting about 6 weeks ago I’m getting PMS crashes somewhere between 2x per day to once every 2-3 days.
@ChuckPa any chance you can a take a closer look at my previous log or this one I have just uploaded? I had another crash again this morning around 531am local time, but I’m just really struggling to understand how to read this log…
Did this update get pushed to the public channel also? I seem to have this version installed, but I’m not pulling from the beta channel. If it was pushed there, it didn’t fix the issue for me.
Plex Media Server 1.25.9.5721/Synology still crashing for me. I have been getting random crashes for at least a month now. I wish the service would auto-restart (Hint: new feature with some sort of rate limit for real serious issues). I have missed many DVR recordings when it shuts down with no notifications.
