PMS Linux 1.19.1.2645 Hardware Transcode Not Working

Noticed my CPU was running high and saw 2 users showing “Transcode” in the GUI, but not “(hw)”. Checked nvidia-smi and sure enough, nothing transcoding on the card. Maybe something with the latest driver on Ubuntu?

same problem

Here’s the steps i took to fix the issue on Centos: HW Transcode, Linux/Docker/Intel QVS/Nvidia P2000 - Unable to hw transcode

Probably something along the following lines for Ubuntu:

sudo -i
service docker stop
apt-get purge nvidia*
apt-get clean
apt-get update
apt install nvidia-driver-440
reboot
