PMS on Gentoo not having an option to claim server

Hi all,

I am currently having an issue with a Gentoo deployed VMWare host.
The story behind this:
I was running PMS on my Synology but I have now transitioned it to the VMWARE server which has more CPU power and RAM.
I did log in with both PMS with the same account while both were running (don’t know if this would have an effect on it)
The way I did this is the following: Logged out from the account, uninstalled the PMS on the synology, started up the Gentoo PMS and logged in.

The “Claim Server” on general does not appear and I cannot create the new server.

I can only access the plex by the VMware host IP, cannot access the 127.0.0.1:32400 as I have just cli on the Gentoo. Do I need to access it through the local IP or should it be okay with the host IP?

Any feedback will be appreciate it. Find attached the debug file.

Thank you in advance

All I know about Gentoo Linux is that it’s not supported by Plex

When said, you should be able to do an SSH into it, and then maybe run this script

Hey Dane,

Thank you for replying.

How is it possible that I am running it then? The Plex GUI works fine.
Or is it that certain functions on the Plex GUI won’t show?

That it works, or partially works != supported

To see supported Linux distro’s, visit https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/ and select Linux/Choose Distribution

And what works/doesn’t work on your distro I simply can’t say, since I never tried it

Thanks Dane,
The Script works and now I have it fully operational.
