PMS Remote access failing. No settings changed for ages

Server Version#: 1.18.8.2527
Player Version#: Latest PS4, Latest iOS
Plex Media Server Logs_2020-03-20_09-09-47.zip (3.6 MB)

No changes other than updating Plex, but I havnt attempted remote accessed since the login servers crashed a few weeks ago. After that, I had to end/restart the service to get it to go back online…unsure if Remote was working or not after this, as I was home and not accessing remote.

Have a pi-hole. Disabled. No effect.
Manually configured port 32400 TCP open (it has been this way for years). Also tried just UPnP. No effect.

Hard Reset ISP router/modem. No effect.

This setup was running on rails for years, so either my ISP changed something on their backend, or the server update borked something is all I can think? My seedbox torrents are uploading just fine, so I’m hesitant to believe its my ISP.

Thank you for your help.

Same here. Only change I made was updating the software.

Downgrade to PMS 1.16. Same thing happened to me, see here (Synology DS1019 in my case): DS1019+ Users other than admin can't see server, since migration

Id love to, but with all my google-fu, I cannot find a QNAP 1.16 copy to download.

Can you download from QNAP software archive directly? Appears the latest version they have release notes on is 1.16.6 (https://www.qnap.com/en-us/app_releasenotes/list.php?app_choose=PlexMediaServer)

Wicked, thanks. Installing 1.16.6 now. Will report back!

Sounds similar to my experience. In my case in the settings it also shows that the server is remotely accessible. While in actually the bandwidth is capped. Do you all have something similar that as well (then I will definitely consider a downgrade).

Also what can we do for some actual support regarding this issue? I wouldn’t paying extra if there is a channel with some meaningful and quick tech support.

Rolling back to 1.16.6 did not fix my issue, so it appears this is on my end somehow I guess.

Basic questions for all QNAP units:

  1. Is the Default Gateway set? ( This has been known to drop with QNAP firmware updates )

  2. When’s the last time the unit was rebooted? (Yes, a pain but it really does set things to right.

I will now review the OP’s logs and report

Remote Access cannot see into the QNAP. 0=failure , 1=success.
