PMS says "Fully accessible outside your network" but Android app shows Server Offline

I’ve been having this problem for a month or so, and believe it’s an issue between my ISP’s HITRON modem/router combo and my own mesh network. Everything had been working fine until I did something that brought down my internet. After working with the techs at Rogers we got it back up, but they had me reconfigure my modem in a different way than I had it set up previously, so that I now have 2 separate networks running - one on the gateway and a separate one on the mesh. I did the Open Port Check , and it can’t find my port 32400 on the external port, even though PMS says it’s all good.

Does anyone know how I can turn off all router features on the HITRON so that it only acts as a modem?

Thanks.

Not exactly familiar with their products. I found that homepage about how to establish a port forward for various Hitron models

Thanks.

I tried disabling the gateway function, but that brought everything to a crashing halt. An hour with tech support and a remote reset of the modem finally got me back up and running.

I can’t port forward directly to my Media PC, since it is on a different subnet (.68.xxx) - the third set is different than on the modem. Should I forward port 32400 to the ip address for the mesh network instead, which has the standard .0.xxx at the end?

Or alternatively - I currently run a cable from the modem to the mesh router, then to an 8 port switch, then to the media PC. If I was to go from the modem to the switch first, the media PC would stay on the primary (0.xx) network, and I could plug the mesh router into the switch instead. Do you think that would be a better option?

I went with Plan B, and that seems to have done the trick, for now at least. I’ll have to wait and see if it will play nice with my mesh network.

I’m going to have to come up with something else. I was no longer able to access my Sonos system through my Media PC, nor access the PC from other devices in the house, since it was now on a different network.
