PMS scanning is producing duplicate MP3s/Albums although there is only one file/folder. The duplicates show in the screen. Take note this is a data issue. My collection is fine. I tried to merge the duplicates but there has to be a better way to eliminate this.
Mind sharing some more details? Your thread title is not so much speaking for itself
Without any additional details my guess will be those files have deviating embedded metadata (e.g. artist / album title slightly different in the embedded metadata, resulting in the files being associated as different artists/albums respectively)
Do you have the same folder added several times to your library (... > Manage Library > Edit... -> Add Folder)?
This could happen if you added e.g. C:\Users\[user name]\My Music\ and C:\Users\[user name]\My Music\Plex Music\)
No. I just added on one album and it pops up on the screen as the original album and the duplicate. What I have decided to do is to save my music to an external hard Drive. Then I’m going to delete all the music in my Nas. Then delete the Plex Media Server and then reinstall it. Afterwards I will add on the music once again.
Just to close this section out: I had to copy my music collection to an external hard drive (and I’m keeping it handy in case…) and delete PLEX from my Netgear ReadyNAS, then reinstall and start from scratch.
