PMS (Windows 10) Will Not Find HDHomeRun Tuner

Server Version#:1.42.2.10156
Player Version#:1.110.0.351
Tuner Make/Model:HDHR5-2US
Guide/Lineup name:
Using XMLTV?: Unknown
Channel number/Name:
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

I have tried everything to get the server talking to the HDHomeRun Tuner, and failed. I am using the :32400/web interface. It worked until I changed my password, as recommended in your recent email. I reloaded the Windows client and server (both running on the same Windows 10 PC), and when I get to the “adding tuner” part, the server does not see the tuner, nor can I add it via the IP address. The tuner is on the same subnet, the firewall is off, there is no VPN, and I can use the HDHomeRun app to tune and watch a channel on the same PC. I am certain there are no network issues between this PC and the tuner.

I have tried the various solutions proposed on this site and others, and still cannot get the server to see the tuner.

I let PMS create log files, but the ZIP file is too big. Which log file should I send?

What is my next step?

Thank you.

I found the answer! You have to remove the DVR manually. I lost the link to the article, but this is what I did:

  1. Close the Plex Client and the Plex web interface

  2. In Task Manager, navigate to the Plex Server and end task

  3. Navigate to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Databases

  4. Rename the three files beginning with “tv.plex.providers.epg.cloud-…” so that Plex doesn’t see them (the article said delete them, but I was a coward)

  5. Restart the Plex server.

  6. In a browser tab, type “server IP address:32400/web”

  7. Go to Settings→ Live TV and DVR, and add the HDHomeRun Tuner, which it FINALLY FOUND!! Yay!

Using this procedure, I am back in business.

I hope this helps someone else.
