Hello everyone. Long time user and subscriber to Plex… I realize that this question is probably asked a thousand times in this forum, so PLEASE forgive me as Im’ sure people have already taken time to answer this question. The problem is that I work overseas and our internet is terrible… I mean really really terrible. To the point that even trying to find answers on this forum is sometimes impossible. (Relying on 3rd world internet connection that disconnects almost continually!). This being the case, I’m trying to ask this question so that I can simply come to this thread to find an answer…
Here’s my problem. I’m running PMS off of a Mac mini and trying to connect to it via my iPad as well as a new Apple TV (4th gen). As long as internet is up and running things are okay. But often, the 3rd world power company quits (at least once or twice a day) and so I lose my internet connection. Or if the power company is fine, there are many times when my internet itself just doesn’t work.
Every time I lose internet connection, I can no longer stream video content to my Apple TV or other devices in the house. (because apparently it automatically signs me out of the PMS). This never used to be a problem. Can someone help me figure this out? I don’t need multiple users or anything like that - just simply want to be able to stream content without needing internet.
I am SO sorry that this is probably covered multiple times in other threads… I just can’t seem to get it to work for me.
