So I just came for a couple of weeks holidays to a place with no wifi and only a ■■■■■■ 3G connection and log into my laptop where all my media and PMS are and I can’t access any of it because of no internet??? Seriously Plex??? If so, I send you a massive FU your way. I don’t know how long I’ve paid for my monthly subscription but surely longer that the price of a lifetime one, and then I find this???!!! You can all rot next to Donald trump. Again: FU

This would be due to you having secure connections on and logging into Plex.tv with your clients. disable secure connections and connect directly to your server and not through Plex.tv
I can’t even access to settings. You tell me how to disable secure connections…unfortunately due my crap 3G connection I can’t even upload a picture of the scree saying: plex is not reachable. Make sure your server has an internet connection and any firewalls or other programs are set to slow access. I’ve tried preferences on my mac so it opens settings on the web browser, I’ve tried open plex so it opens the web player and I’ve tried PMC and nothing works. That used to work. It’s nothing to do with secure connections only. And I’m also sure I have that disable so I can reach it when far from my computer
Plex used to work even offline ALWAYS, at least for the last 6-7 years I’ve used it
I pay £36 a year only so I can transfer to my iPad, even tho it takes months to transfer a season of a tv show, and infuse it’s only £6 a year and just copies in seconds, without conversion of any kind… bored of plex already
If you don’t want to use your Plex Pass features you can always just turn the security (the sign in) off.
Sign your browser out. (make it go gray upper right corner)
stop pms.
rename Preferences.xml to Preferences.xml-save
start pms.
it’ll start with the standard splash screen. blah blah.. When you see the first ‘login’ screen, look in the lower right corner. You’ll find “What’s This?”
Click it. Accept the “limited functionality” (no plex pass and no security). skip making any libraries… proceed to the dashboard.
You’re there.
First time you sign your browser and machine back in… Security returns
OR
put the saved Preferences.xml on top of the temp just created.
I do want to use my plex pass features. That’s why I pay for it. The thing is: I could do before, both offline and online, but I can’t anymore. The fact that I can’t even acces my media on the same computer now, it’s just plain retarded. I’ll try what you say, but even if it fixes it, it’s still retarded. 17th century style!! ********
I can’t even sing in by the way, and I don’t even see the icon on the upper right hand corner…
And also it’d be nice to know where that preference file is…

Settle down
Or out, or nothing. You obviously don’t see the point of my frustration of paying for something that doesn’t work. Settle down??? Maybe be helpful instead
This is what shows up when I click on “open plex” and on preferences
Where do I sign out in here?whereis that preference file? I’m settled down now. Maybe you can be helpful now?
That’s what I thought…

What Platform?
Mac OS X 10.11.6
Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Preferences.xml
I do have one question…
If you have no internet to sign into Plex.tv with. How are you signing onto the forum?
Doesn’t Apple have HotSpot? My iPhone sure does.
