Hi guys, I just got AT&T fiber internet. I’ve been trying to figure out the port forwarding, I added the custom settings but its still not working. I managed to port forward for 80 but I don’t have any luck doing it for 32400. The router provided is a Arris BGW210-700.
I have the same issue with router BGW210-700. After reading lots of posts and trying many configurations I am unable to get remote access working
Setup steps.
“Firewall” tab then
NAT/Gaming tab
*clicked “custom service” button added the following
-name: Plex
-Global port range: 32400 - 32400
-Base port: 32400
-Protocol: TCP/UDP
*clicked “return to NAT/Gaming”
Under Application Hosting Entry
-Service: “*Plex”
-Needed by device:
*Clicked “Add” button
Notes:
*I do not see any place to manually set the “public port” for this NAT configuration.
*The Status tab under Firewall tab still shows “NAT default server = off” even after adding the NAT/Gaming port forwarding details above
*Port Forwarding guide for BGW210 https://www.att.com/esupport/article.html#!/u-verse-high-speed-internet/KM1215101
Any suggestions on how to configure this ATT router to allow remote access are appreciated
Also on a side note i was in the desktop app and it as i tried to enable it would show a check mark then go back to not working. So i opened up my Plex server by typing in its ip address and it worked i was able to go into server setting and it showed i was working when i went to remote setting.
I then closed that out and went to plex.tv and reopened the desktop app and boom the remote settings in the server showed working. Now my remote access is working and so is my Amazon Echo devices
I’ve got att fiber and my plex works great outside of my home. Streams full 1080P as long as T-Mobile can handle it haha. My PC (Plex server) is connected directly to the fiber modem (Arris BGW210-700). I set my computer to a static IP from one of the dhcp ones that att gave me with google dns 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Windows Firewall is off. Added nat rules in the arris modem (See pic).
Having the same problem. Did all the port forwarding and when I start it from local ip address, looking for server just spins, loading plex.tv and signing to my account…spins looking for server? What am I missing!!! Went from Xfininty (working plex) to AT&T fiber, router BGW210. I have files in smb with windows, i can see and play all files in windows explorer. Ports are open! Server wont start or i cant see it.
Okay went to bed, tried again next day. Was so frustrated I decided to uninstall the plug in, re-install plex plug in, redid the source and destination for the jail files. turned it on, now it works. What I changed different…NOTHING??? Blah, but it’s working so who cares…
I’ve been fighting with firewall rules and server settings for about two days. Saw a suggestion to disable ipv6 on the bgw210 and everything instantly started working. Might be worth a try for anyone who finds this in the future.
looks like an AT&T FW issue - many people have not been able to get port forwarding working on the router, myself included. If I hard reboot the router, it works for like 30 seconds then stops working. i’ve tried disabling all firewall rules. what’s interesting is un-forwarded ports get a connection refused while forwarded ports just timeout. i’m going to use IP passthrough next and keep my old router setup.
I have exactly the same issue. Curious to know how to get this resolved.
I’m thinking I need to somehow allow all traffic through the AT&T router/modem and use my own router (with DD-WRT) to configure as desired. But, I can’t seem to setup the AT&T router in that way.
I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one. I am using a Shield TV as my server. It used to work with out any port forwarding set up. I messed up changing out my hard drive and when I reset everything I no longer had remote access.
I can’t figure it out, I’ll get 5 seconds of up to 10 minutes of it working after a reset, but then it times out. Maybe some type of firewall/security setting that does a check in intervals? I’m not dumb tech-wise, but this is way beyond me.
I spent about an hour and a half on the phone with an AT&T ConnecTech guy today, and he get it working…for a little while. Left home, checked it a couple hours later, and couldn’t get on. Came back home and found remote access unavailable again. So… something’s messed up here. The AT&T tech said it was a Plex thing, and since he got it working, I thought he must be telling the truth…but now I’m not so sure.
Same issue here except mine worked for over a year on the BGW210-700 and now in the last week the port is closed and i can’t figure out why. It sure is pissing off my friend and family who use my server.
Never got my remote access working for more than a few minutes and never with any form of decent quality. I gave up and bought a new router, set up IP Passthrough so it has an external WAN IP Address, seems to fix the issue if you have a spare router or some cash
Is this the only router you have at home? When I first got AT&T Fiber, they gave me a router that had bugs and would not bridge properly. I use a VyOS virtual router at home and just have theirs bridge to me. I called them, and they immediately replaced it with the Arris NVG599, which works great for what I want.
Once you connect to with your own router, you can go to the Firewall settings and enable IP Passthrough to your own router. This will allow you to configure the port forwarding on your router instead. I know this is not ideal for some, but I would call if I were you to see if there is different brand/model router they can send you…or if you have a router, I would try passthrough and see if that works.
BTW, the interface on my router looks exactly the same as the screens I have seen here.
I have had the same problem since my modem was replaced. I had my AT&T service upgraded to higher speed and had my modem Arris BGW210 replaced with a new one.
Unfortunately the issue persists. This modem lies. it says that the ports are opened in the firewall (NET/Gaming section) but they are not. And according to what I have been reading a lot of people have this issue. I saw somewhere that it was solved by using the Passthrough mode. In my case it stays closed and nothing is passing through.
To be continued.
