Ports has not upgraded in a while

Player Version#: Version 3.69.1
I have always used package manager to install and update my PMS that I have in a jail on FreeNAS. The latest shows that it is updated…but when I issue the pkg update command. It says there is no update available to get me to Version 1.14.0.5470. Using the package method has always been good, simple and reliable. I did send an email, but no response. According to freshports, the maintainer is feld@freeBSD.org …Is FreeBSD giving up on itself? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you! I guess I’ll wait. Just curious if there was an ‘official’ notice that it was abandoned by FreeBSD…

Well since the port was never maintained by FreeBSD, there wouldn’t be any ‘official’ notice from them… Just give the maintainer some time to do whatever he has to do since I don’t think he gets paid to maintain the port… The last update took about 10 days, plus if you use pkg (8) to install PLEX instead of building from ports, it will take a couple extra days before the packages are built by the FreeBSD package servers…

I thought it was. The maintainer’s email is feld@FreeBSD.org I was guessing with the domain it was somewhat official. No biggie. I was just curious about an announcement…
