Some weird issue I ran into while organizing all my Blu-ray extras… If any of my extras has the word “Opening” in the file name, in Plex it simply shows up as “Opening”. Any reason why this happens, and is there any way to fix this?
Out of the hundreds of extras I have organized so far, literally the only files giving me trouble are the ones with “opening” in the file name. So weird.
Before anyone asks, my extras are already named and organized in accordance to this Plex article. I put my extras into subfolders. I haven’t had any issues with any of the other hundreds of extras I’ve organized at this point. Doesn’t matter what the extra name is, if it has “opening” anywhere within the file Plex simplifies it.
It is a known issue which resulted out of a desire to support certain alternate naming varieties.
So far, the code change hasn’t been reverted or revised.
At this moment I can only recommend a workaround: use the abbreviation OP for “opening” and ED for “ending” in your file names.
Gotcha, thanks for the reply. Glad I’m not the only one with this issue, hope it gets fixed soon. Doesn’t really make sense to me why it’s a feature if I’m being honest.
