Is it a bug that the preview thumbnails only appear in a particular view? There appear to be two methods of accessing the scrub/timeline bar in plex on my tv:
View 1: whilst watching media - you access the scrub bar buy pressing enter then up followed by left/right - shows video preview thumbnails
View 2: whilst watching media - press left/right - does not show video preview thumbnails.

Yep - that’s it.
The idea is for jumping forward 30 or back 10 you’d bump right or left without bringing up the OSD - if you need to take a longer trip use the OSD and the thumbs. Bumping forward or back does ‘accumulate’ - so… go easy.
It can’t work like the Roku, for instance, and frankly - I like it better… this particular thing, at least. If I know I have to bump 5 times to miss an ad break - I can do that without the OSD. Or bump twice just when Fran Drescher is about to speak… 3 times to make sure you miss the laugh. Can’t do that on a Roku…lol
The behaviour you see is expected. When seeking via the scrub bar it’s a preview of the seek you might make (it’s not executed until you press OK), but when seeking with the left/right arrows (or channel up/down for chapter/larger jumps) it performs an immediate seek.
