I use Plex HTPC because it is very user friendly, flexible and it uses mpv as its display engine. But Plex video thumbnail seeking works in a very non user friendly way. The way it should work is that if I seek forwards or backwards, the video thumbnails appear on the seek bar at the bottom. What actually happens is that no thumbnails appear. Instead I have to click up which puts the seek bar right in the middle of the show you are watching and then seek. Then the thumbnails appear which is counterintuitive. Then I have to wait another few seconds (which is not configurable) for the seek bar/menu which is blocking my video to disappear. I read I can press the back key but none of this follows the Plex ethos of being HTPC user friendly.
With mpv the thumbnail appears on the seek bar straight away on the bottom of the screen.
