I’ve tweaked here and there for quite a while and I’ve wondered at some point if I went terribly awry with some of my changes and don’t know that it is causing me issues.
Is there any way to completely reset Plex, but leave my media information (meta, viewed, etc) in place? It is just as simple as backing up my media/meta, uninstalling, reinstalling, then putting the media/meta back?

I’ve been using Plex for a few years and have tried adjustments and such on a lot of things. I’m sort of looking to set things back to “default”, but don’t want to lose my watched status. I’d be OK getting fresh metadata for stuff even. Again - just worried I’ve tweaked something in that past that shouldn’t have been, etc.
Take Agents for example - I’ve added/removed/adjusted those so much, I honestly don’t know if they are right or not. They seem to work, but I don’t know if they are working as well as they should. I’ve tried looking for default settings or even pictures of how they are set/ordered in screenshots, but I haven’t been able to find them anywhere.
Do the following:
Plug-in Support/Caches and erase every subfolder in therePlug-in Support/Metadata Combination. In there, again erase all subfolders.Plug-ins. In there, you’ll see every channel, scanner or metadata agent you’ve installed. Erase those .bundle subfolders, you don’t use anymore. There is no big harm done if you erase all of them. The worst which can happen is you have to re-install those plugins you still want.If you are unsure whether you have found the right ‘Plex data folder’, take a look at the folder name of the Plug-ins folder. If its name is Plug-ins-2bd156c (or a similar cryptic code number), you are in the wrong folder! (if you erase anything in there, you have to re-install Plex server)
After all that, start Plex server. Wait a few minutes to give PMS time to restore the default settings.
All channel, scanner, agent and plugin settings will be reverted to their default values.
The order of the Agents will also be reset.
All your libraries, users and watched status will be still there.

Didn’t work for what?
It will only reset all agent-related settings and preferences to default values.
You will probably only see an effect if you previously modified some of these.
Oh, and you need to do it while the server is completely shut-down. Or it won’t have any effect.
