Post Media Server update, Movies and TV shows will no longer play

After running Plex update this morning, my Movies and TV shows no longer play. All metadata is still present. I have removed all libraries and reloaded metadata, but shows would not play. I removed all libraries again, shut down server, manually downloaded Plex Media Server, installed and restarted server. I added library back and shows still will not play. I receive a message that Plex is having difficulty playing video.

I have Plex Media Server loaded on two separate Macbook Pro’s. One works after update, one does not. The servers have different names. My media files on an external WD hard drive.

So you have 2 PMS on 2 different Mac one is good one isn’t and both updated?

Your media is on external WD, this must be a NAS since both access the same WD?
What do you use to connect to the WD share from MAC that doesn’t work? SMB mount? NFS

From the server that doesn’t work can you play the media file from the WD without using plex like VLC or QuickTime?

And I am assuming on the same plex client you select change server and when you are on bad one files don’t play and on good one they do? and what client are you using?
