my movies used to work but ever since I updated the server i’ve been having these problems on windows and Xbox and now certain ones that I try to play on Windows says there’s a problem playing this and when I try on Xbox it’s says error server not available there was an communicating with the server you can retry or go home to select a different one i have no idea why is this happening. Can anybody help
@jeremy30008 Does your server have enough space on the disk to transcode?
Don’t cross post.
already answered, @moussa.uk
@moussa.uk I have 1.87gb left
I’m having the same issues. I can see the library (with updated content), but when I select content and navigate to description page it says “Unavailable”. When I try to playback, it says can’t connect to server (or something to that effect). Everything was working fine before I updated to the New Xbox One Preview update! It just so happens, I installed the Plex Server update at the same time.
I tried signing out and signing back in on the Plex app on xbox one, and “updating library” on the server, and exiting and restarting the Plex Server on my Win10 machine. I do have plenty of disk space on the server drives.
I’m new here and don’t know how to edit posts :o
I forgot to mention, that I can browse all libraries on the Xbox One. It even shows server name (which I recently updated), so that I know it’s not a cache of some sort.
Thanks

This means that when the server is checking to see if the movie file still exists it is unable to find/read the file. If you navigate to that movie in Plex Web is it marked as unavailable in that location as well?
Would you happen to have your Plex Media Server.log from a playback attempt with one of the files that gives you the cannot connect to server error message?
Oh Jeez. lol No, I couldn’t play from the web player either. After a little digging, I found that the external drive mapping had changed in Windows (due to other flash drives…) It’s working now that I pointed Plex to the correct folders.
Thanks!!

@jeremy30008 That seems rather tight, depending on the size of the media that is being transcoded.
I also had the same issue until I read this post. I wrongly assumed it was the plex update causing issue but after looking at my system I was down to just under 1.9gb. I cleared up some space and hey presto
Thank you moussa.uk It was driving me bonkers!!!
