Pre-roll video that also plays before trailers

I love that Plex allows me to have an “Our feature presentation” video play between trailers and the main feature film, but I was curious if there is an appetite to have a video play before the trailer themselves (“Previews of coming attractions”, etc.), to mimic the theatre experience even more.

I know I’d love that option!

I had requested this in the Feature Request Voting forum about six months ago and it seemed to generate no interest. I’m adding my vote to your request to see if we get more traction this time.

It seems like a no-brainer, really. Not hard to implement, and feeds better into the “movie night” theme trailers and pre-roll offer.

I’d like that! I’ve been requesting this since 2014. Years ago at drive-ins they’d play 2-3 cartoons before the main feature…
Then a countdown to the movie… ( you still have time to visit the snack bar! )

I’d really like this feature to be able to FORCE for all users a pre-roll. I want users to be able to choose if they want trailers, but a pre-roll should be the server admins decision for info purposes.

This post should have been closed For any new posts on this, I could swear there was a way to add a video before whatever you were playing, such as like a really cool intro.
Settings > server > extras > Cinema Trailers pre-roll video, not sure if thats what your asking for but its been there forever .

It’s not the same thing.

The one you refer to plays before the movie itself, so that’s The “Main attraction” pre-roll. I’m asking for a second one that plays before the trailers themselves (i.e “Previews of coming attractions”).

I really hope they implement this feature. When I watch a movie, I’d like for the Pre-Roll to play first, then trailers, in possible an audio format bumper, countdown, then finally the movie. I can do this with CinemaVision and Kodi, but I much prefer using Plex…Please make it happen!!!

Agree, this would improve this feature by leaps and bounds! I would like to be able to have trailers play after a “coming soon” pre-roll and before my “theater intro” pre-roll. Theaters don’t play trailers before all the pre-roll. Wouldn’t it be possible to add a keyword in the pre-roll box to initiate trailers when you want them to play?

like the "Cinema Trailers pre-roll video" feature, It will be nice to have a "forced" pre-roll video, set for each library, before every playback.
