Prefer local metadata

I note Plex dumbs down media I import. (e.g. limited edition of Dark Side of the Moon is matched to a 1973 release, and the special release disappears.

I think I need to turn Prefer local metadata on as default. But where can I find that? I have searched the app without luck.

3 dots next to the library → Manage Library → Edit → Advanced

Alternatively you might want to review your file naming/organization to avoid such mix-ups.

e.g.

Movies  <- the folder linked to your library
  Dark Side of the Moon (2016) {edition-Special Edition}
    Dark Side of the Moon (2016) {edition-Special Edition}.ext

Assuming that’s your release… there’s a number of “Dark Side of the Moon” movies.
