Hey,
I just recently found out about plex and just moved my whole library over to my linux server, which consists of about 4000 .flacs and a few shows. When creating my music library, I chose to create a premium one, since it seemed to have more features. First it went fine, but then, when trying to search for music, I noticed something.
If I had an album that had a counterpart with different versions of the songs in that album, so let’s say “Album” and “Album (Remixes)” for example, the Remix album would just be called “Album” and all the songs would have the exact names of the original songs, even though their metadata and even filename says they are Remixes and different, however the cover sometimes actually did work.
When I tried to fix the match, sometimes (not always) it even showed the correct match. But whenever I clicked on it, it only updated the cover and not the actual names, so I just gave up and switched to a standard library. Do any of you have any idea how to get around this without actually renaming them individually? I’ve always hated automatic music matching because it just doesn’t work well for the music I listen to, and since my music is very well structured, it’s not like I even need it. I’d be glad to hear if there’s a way I wouldn’t have to deal with that in a premium library.
